What is the I.S.L.E Association?
The I.S.L.E
Association was created in June 2012 following the success of an Erasmus Networks
project (2010-2013) entitled “Innovation in the teaching of Sustainable
development in Life Sciences in Europe”: www.isle-project.eu
The I.S.L.E
Association comprises 44 members so far, 29 individual and 15 institutional. 38
members are from international HEI's (including from USA, Bahrain.). There are also 2 Research Institutes, 1
Company, 1 NGO and 1 Foundation.
The I.S.L.E
Association offers its members the possibility to become part of an International
Sustainability Network.

Sustainability Journal
Professors,
Assoc. Professors, Personnel, PhD Students, Master and Bachelor level students may
publish papers in a review dedicated to Sustainable Development in Life
Sciences. Both scientific and
non-scientific papers are welcome! The first call for publications in the
journal is currently underway.
“ISLELearn” Moodle platform
Members
may have access to the platform for long distance learning, where they can have
not just open access to content, but also request as restricted access to use in
and outside of the classroom:
“I.S.L.E label” for teaching
programs dedicated or related to Sustainable Development
It is
possible for HEIs to apply for the “I.S.L.E
label” which is a
streamlined tool for recognizing and measuring the progress made by the Higher
Education Institutions towards excellence in teaching the concept of
sustainability.
I.S.L.E ASSO to be a partner in a new
ERASMUS + project
The
I.S.L.E Association has not missed the opportunity to jump onto the new Erasmus
+ bandwagon and will be part of a “Strategic Partnerships” project entitled
“Eating Cities” which, if selected will be coordinated by the company “RISTECO”

The aim of
the project is to involve students, researchers, university teachers,
practitioners of public service and private companies in the definition of the
professional profile and skills of a “Sustainable Food Manager” as these SFM
are needed by local/regional authorities, private companies to implement and
foster the transition towards sustainable food systems.
